applause rang throughout the place as i walked up to the mike. as i scanned the sea of eager faces of the audience looking at me, i cleared my throat to signal the commencement of my speech. the audience kept their focus on the stage only as the message was strongly conveyed. it felt powerful to be able to command the attention of the multitudes by mere strength of words. nods of approval were given in unision at the intelligence of the speech given. as smooth and swiftly as it began, it ended with an all-time high. the whole place exploded with the sudden roar of the thunderous applause of the audience as a standing ovation was given to the speaker. i bowed, calmly but confidently walked exited the stage, with the applause still echoing in my head.

it is done. i've completed my speech at the speaker's corner in my sch.

We're playing WRS today. paranoia plagued me from ystday night. esp since they beat PCS, the south zone champ. like the phrase the ball is round, anything and everything can happen.

but today once i got on court, i felt confident~ woa. even when they were leading at first, i was very sure we can do it. and we did! we took the first set 25-15. second set was the climax. i did a super nice spike! it was a half turn in the air, and i spiked the ball to the extreme left corner near the baseline, and it just went smacked right on the floor! nice. we won 2-0. yupp and guess what? this means we're proceeding to the quarter-finals! this is big news man! i'm leaving behind a legacy! okay lah, WE'RE leaving behind a legacy!!

Today, I caught a movie that will be deeply etched in my memory for many years to come. Our original plan was to watch the romance comedy My Girl, but somehow, it morphed into a “for-kids-only-unless-you-have-too-much-$$-to-spare” film Cat in the Hat. Heys to all you kids out there, no offense! (for ur info my idea of kids are ppl less than 8 yrs old).

But seriously, I find the film with a paucity(a new word I learnt recently from the compulsory english material my sch made us buy : 1100 Words You Need to Know) of intelligence. Throughout the 1 hour (a movie that’s only 1 hour?! You call that a movie?!) film, I won’t deny the fact that I was actually laughing. But at the wrong things, at the wrong time. I was laughing at myself, how in the world did I end up paying a full-price tix for a show like this?! I was staring mindlessly at the brightly coloured moving pictures (the plum and old baby sitter’s hair was bright purple for goodness sake) and hearing laughter of grandparents and kids erupting in unity(family outing, no doubt).

Frankly, this wasn’t my idea of enjoying a movie. I was stuck in the middle of a cinema, in a sea of obviously delighted kids, eating my shrunken KFC Schroom burger and drinking iced milo without a straw(in our haste we forgot all about straws), staring at a giant black and white cat with an absurd tall hat prancing about, reciting the typical Dr Seuss type of rhymes. Sigh.

But who can we blame but ourselves for lack of time coordination. We planned to catch the 7pm slot of My Girl, at 6.35pm we happily strolled into the cinema only to find out tickets were sold out! Thus began our frantic search for another cinema screening the show. However to our greatest dismay we found out that none of the other 2 cinemas in orchard has it. After being tossed about by the 3 cinemas (we ran from one end to the other – PS to lido) we found ourselves washed upon the shores of Cathay at Cineleisure. Alas, we found out that showings for other movies were either
1) too late at night
2) one of us watched it before
3) NC-16 or
4) R(A)
It was already 7.17pm after all the scurrying about, and some of us has a curfew of 10.30pm, so we had to catch a movie that starts before 8pm so that it’d end before 10pm. The only eligible film was, as you’ve already guessed, Cat in the Hat, which starts at 7.20pm! We were desperate(actually because we were reluctant to go home empty handed without a movie), with only 3 minutes to the film, we hastily bought the tickets, hastily ran to da bao dinner from KFC, and hastily ran back to the cinema. Finally, we settled in on the comfortable seats for what we thought would be a good laugh. Yea, more like a good laugh at ourselves.

Conclusion: time management and planning are important skills we should all learn to master.

i thought it'd be a sticky and difficult problem, but it was over in a minute. i can't describe the "i'm free!" feelin i felt when it finally ended. well i guess with time a mutual undstding was reached that friendship was a better choice. nah... i wldn't say it was without good times, there was happiness, but well, i think (at least for me), due to lack of groomin it just wore off. i think this kinda thing is like a pot of roses, with lots of grooming and attention it blooms and grow, but with negligence it just withers away. maybe i still haven't mastered the skills of gardening yet. anyways, this year's important! i won't and will not let anyth get in the way and jeopardize my goals. no way man, i'm gonna pia all the way for my Os this year~

We had a friendly match against TCHS today. I’d say it was one of the most successful friendly games we ever had for the past 3 years. Anyways, main point is we won (the first set). It is always amazing to see how people get motivated by the wrong things. Some of us suddenly find themselves playing on form like they’d never before. I wonder why~ hmmm.

Do you hear class 4/8 sing
Singing the song of victory
We will not give up so easily
We stand in unity
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of my heart
Altogether we will stand no matter what!

We came in champs for the inter-class captain’s ball, 3rd for the outdoor games, 4th for Dog and Bone, and we won the Most Graceful Class Award! I love you 4/8! We rock!
